GET THE EDGE Session
Being Good isn’t Enough
You’ll be going up against dozens of qualified candidates. You have to find a way to stand out — to show that you are the absolute best person for the opportunity.
We’ll put you to the test and evaluate your answers. We’ll help you strengthen your answers and your interview presence, working with you on:
- Why do you want this job?
- Why investment banking/sales and trading/asset management/private equity/etc.?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Why should we be impressed by your past experience (jobs, internships, academic)?
- Tell me about a time….(typical behavioral questions)
- Why should we hire you?
- Do you have any questions for me?
We can also work with you on technical questions, market questions, and brainteaser questions. However, if you have a lot of areas to work on, you may want to upgrade to a multiple-session package.
This “Get the Edge” session is a must for anyone who wants to know that he or she has done everything possible to prepare for that once-in-a-lifetime interview.
Our session will include a practice interview, detailed (and very candid) feedback, coaching on your answers and your physical presence, and additional practice interviewing so you can get comfortable with your new-and-improved approach.
We will ask you to send your resume and the job description in advance so we can skip the small talk and use all 90 minutes to turn you into an interview master.
* Includes complimentary access to Big Interview, our online interview training system that allows you to continue practice interviewing after the session (via our online tool and your webcam) — and also gives you access to video lessons on critical interview topics, a huge interview question database, sample answers, and more.
* We conduct coaching sessions from our office in Manhattan or via video-conference from wherever you are (Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong — any time zone).
Financial Services Effective Interviewing 4-Session Package
The “Get the Edge” session is great, but sometimes 90 minutes just isn’t enough time to get yourself in “Perfect Hire” condition. After all, a Super Day at a top interview bank can last all day and include up to 10 separate interviews.
The Financial Services Effective Interviewing Coaching Package includes four sessions (two 90-minute in-person or video conference sessions, and two 60-minute phone sessions).
With four sessions, you’ll have time to work on fit questions, behavioral questions, technical questions, and more.
For your first session, you will meet with Pamela in-person (or via video conference) for 90 minutes. Prior to the session, you will have submitted a questionnaire, resume, and target job information.
One of the first orders of business in Session 1 is an in-depth practice interview customized for your desired position(s). After the interview, Pamela will give you an open and honest assessment of your interviewing style and point out areas that need work and habits that are holding you back.
The rest of the session will be ted to brainstorming new approaches to key questions, working on challenges related to body language, eye contact, and vocal qualities; and additional practice interviewing and coaching.
When you’re done, Pamela will give you homework assignments to work on for your next session. You will also take home a digital video recording of your practice interview (including the post-interview feedback).
Your second session with Pamela will be a 60-minute phone session. The phone format will allow you to focus on the content of your responses.
You will work with Pam to lop interview stories based on your most impressive accomplishments so that you’ll shine when responding to behavioral questions. You will also brainstorm together and find ways to prepare for difficult questions and tricky topics.
In your third session, you will continue to work with Pam to role play critical interview questions, hone your stories and key selling points, and build your confidence. Often, in Session 3, Pamela will work with you on customizing your answers for different jobs and companies.
Your last session will again be a 90-minute in-person meeting (or via video-conference). You and Pamela will conduct a formal, in-depth practice interview and Pamela will give you feedback on all aspects of your interview presentation (from answers to body language and eye contact).
You will then address any last weaknesses and work with Pamela to define next steps and address any remaining questions that you have.
After the session, you will receive another digital video recording so you can track progress (you’ll be amazed at the transformation since Session 1) and get Pamela’s advice on the record.
Effective Interviewing Package includes:
- 2 90-minute in-person or video conference coaching sessions. Sessions can be conducted in our office in Manhattan or via video conference from your home or office in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, or anywhere else (we’ll work with your schedule and your time zone).
- 2 60-minute telephone coaching sessions.
- Multiple practice interviews with feedback and coaching
- Before and after video clips
- Audio recordings of phone sessions
